We're proud to announce the launch of the Diggers RISE Youth Development Program, an exciting new initiative designed to support players from Under 6s right through to the completion of their junior football journey. Our vision is simple: to create a clear and engaging player development pathway while ensuring every child enjoys a fun, inclusive, and rewarding football experience, regardless of their current ability level. At the heart of the Program will be ongoing support and mentoring for our dedicated youth coaches, empowering them to provide the very best environment for players to learn, develop, and thrive.

Under the guidance of an experienced and passionate coaching group, the Program will deliver:

 

• Age-appropriate skill development goals aligned with Football Queensland's recommended proficiencies

• Ongoing coach mentoring and support to help teams achieve their development objectives

• A structured player pathway that complements our existing team framework, preserving strong team culture while creating opportunities for players to develop at the level that best suits them

• Increased participation in football carnivals and development events

• Stronger collaboration with the local FQ Academy to help prepare players for representative football opportunities

• Specialist development clinics throughout the year, focusing on areas such as goalkeeping, finishing, and other key skills

 

Work is already well underway behind the scenes, with planning continuing throughout the off-season. A calendar of key dates and Program activities will be released before this season is over. We're incredibly excited about what lies ahead and look forward to creating even more opportunities for our junior players, coaches, and families in 2027 and beyond.
