With all the success of the 2023 season, it was unfortunately spoilt by two events late in the year.

On the 21 December thieves broke/cut through locks on our gates and maintenance shed and stole our $28,000 Bushranger Mower. The mower was located three days later in bushland off the Ring Road, but unfortunately it was vandalised beyond repair with the hydrostatic drive, mower deck & electrical panels all destroyed along with other parts of the mower. Diggers FC will be working with Club sponsors Avid Insurance Brokers & Waldo's Mower Doctor to replace this essential piece of equipment. This has unfortunately delayed the start of the pre season by one week until we can secure a spare mower while waiting for delivery of our new mower.

We also sustained another blow to our Club with the fierce storm that struck Bundaberg on Saturday 30 December destroying our outdoor area shade sail, tearing buckles, anchor points and tearing the shade sail beyond repair.

Diggers FC committee are meeting tomorrow afternoon to discuss pre-season training dates and our annual Come & Try Day. Unfortunately we are still waiting on the release of final fee figures from Football Wide Bay Administration before we can open the 2024 Season Registration. We hope to have this information & registrations open by Wednesday 10 January.

Stay tuned!
