Diggers FC is deeply saddened to hear the passing of former club member Raphael Georgiev.
On the 5 May 2021, Raph's medical specialists found a large tumour on a CT scan, which was diagnosed the following week as Stage 4 Adrenocortical Carcinoma. Raph fought the toughest battle of her life for the past 10 months, and sadly took her last breath on 4 March 2022. Raph may be gone but her beautiful soul and her vivacious legacy of being an amazing (did we mention AMAZING?!) human will forever live on in each, and every person's life she touched.
Raph came to Diggers FC in 2009 as a ladies player, she also went on to be a junior coach and club secretary. Raph left the club and Bundaberg in 2016, moving to Adelaide to be closer to family.
Raph loved Diggers. She was a true club member, always willing to help and do anything she could for the green and gold.
Raph generously donated $5,000 to the club only a few months ago (knowing her time was near). Diggers FC will be forever grateful for this contribution and for Raph’s commitment and love for Diggers.
Talking with Raph it was decided we would use this donation to create a garden to always remember her.
Funeral details will be posted once known.
Gone too soon, but never forgotten.
RIP Raph #13
